Detailed Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 – Arrive in Paro • Transfer to Thimphu

Land at Paro Airport and be greeted by your guide. Transfer to Thimphu (1.5‑2 hr). After check‑in, visit Tashichho Dzong and stroll through the capital city streets.

DAY 2 – Thimphu Sightseeing & Trek Prep

Explore the Buddha Dordenma statue, Memorial Chorten, and craft workshops. Prep for trekking: gear check, brief trek orientation, and overnight in Thimphu.

DAY 3 – Begin Druk Path Trek • Thimphu to Jimilang Tsho

Drive to Paro Pass start point. Begin trek via alpine meadows to Jimilang Tsho lake camp (3–4 hrs). Overnight in lakeside camp.

DAY 4 – Jimilang Tsho to Jili Dzong to Simkotra

Continue trek ascending to Jili Dzong remains, then descend to scenic Simkotra camp nestled in forests (5–6 hrs).

DAY 5 – Simkotra to Phajoding • Thimphu Return

Retrace steps to Thimphu direction, passing through Phajoding monastery area. Overnight at a guest lodge near Thimphu.

DAY 6 – Transfer to Punakha • Lower Elevations

Drive across Dochula Pass (3,100 m) with views of Himalayan peaks. Continue to Punakha Valley. Afternoon visit Punakha Dzong.

DAY 7 – Punakha Valley Exploration & Trek Start

Morning hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. After lunch, begin trek into Punakha hills, camp overnight en route.

DAY 8 – Continue Trek • Village Stay

Descend into a traditional Bhutanese farming village. Overnight homestay, enjoy cultural immersion and local hospitality.

DAY 9 – Village to Gangtey Valley

Finish trek and take vehicle transfer to scenic Gangtey (Phobjikha) Valley. Visit Gangtey Monastery and surroundings.

DAY 10 – Gangtey to Bumthang • Highland Road Journey

Drive through mountain roads and passes to reach Bumthang. En route stops include the Yathra weaving town and Chendebji Chorten.

DAY 11 – Bumthang Valley Trek & Monastery Visits

Short trek in the green valleys, exploring temples such as Jambay Lhakhang and Kurje Lhakhang. Overnight in Jakar/Bumthang lodge.

DAY 12 – Return to Paro • Depart Bhutan

Drive back over Pelela and Dochula passes to Paro. If time allows, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong or shop before being dropped at Paro Airport for your flight.
